Intelligent control of the storage water heater
Vašica, Radoslav ; Macháček, Jan (referee) ; Šlezingr, Jan (advisor)
The work generally deals with the possibilities of preparing hot water in household and analyzes saving posibilities. At the beginning of work the history of hot water preparation is briefly indicated. Chapter 3 deals with different ways of heating. Described in more detail electric storage heating is in chapter 4, where can be found the effect of heating to the power network, especially to the daily load diagram. The following are the information of the tariff policy, as a tool for motivation of consumers, for using the storage heating. In the next part, beginning with the fifth chapter, is written about the possibility of energy saving by means of intelligently controlled boiler. That eliminates the disadvantage of storage heating, which are the tank thermal losses. Heating is based on a certain regularity in the behaviour of the user and manages the preparation of water according to expected consumption. The sixth chapter then contains design of own algorithm for economical control of heating and also energetic and economic assessment of potential savings.
Heat pumps for heating and hot service water preparation
Valášek, Martin ; Hrnčířová, Michaela (referee) ; Kracík, Petr (advisor)
This bachelor’s thesis is aimed to describe heating and water warming in the detached houses by basic technical devices and there are suggested various types of heat pumps for a particular object. These heat pumps are compared technically and economically. In the beginning of the thesis there is a summary of the possible ways of the house heating and water warming systems, such as heating by electric power, by gas, by solid fuel or the centrally distributed heating. Then the thesis concentrates on heat pumps. There are described various types of heat pumps, also their advantages and disadvantages. There were chosen four main types of heat pumps – air/water, air/air, water/water and earth/water – and with each type there’s constructed a plan for a low-energy house heating. This house is located in Vyškov and there’s thermal loss of 6 kWh and water-warming of a capacity of 260 l per day. At last there were used economical calculations, which shown, that the water/water heat pump has the shortest return rate in comparison with a gas-using heating system – 5 years. Considering the lifespan of the heat pumps – 10-20 years – all the heat pumps are profitable except for the air/air heat pump. The investment in this heat pump doesn’t return.
Gray water heat exchangers
Devečka, Viktor ; Tuhovčák, Ján (referee) ; Fišer, Jan (advisor)
In the present development of building industry and increasing demands for convenience and comfort of living, energy demands of buildings are also getting higher. After heating, the second largest costs are for the production of hot water. Use of hot water produces grey water with high residual thermal energy, which is drained into sewage. The heat recovery system of grey water solves this heat loss problem. This paper deals with the possibilities of using the heat of grey water. It is aimed mainly at the use of heat energy from grey water to reduce the cost of preparation of hot water. The paper analyzed the energy consumption in buildings. Subsequently, it focuses on the methods of using heat from grey water. It familiarizes with the methods of thermal energy recovery and describes drain water heat recovery system. Drain water heat recovery systems' producers from Czech and Slovak market are named. In conclusion, there are two modeling studies evaluating heat recovery system's efficiency.
Design of Heat Pump
Křepela, Radim ; Elbl, Patrik (referee) ; Toman, Filip (advisor)
The aim of this bachelor thesis was basic research in the field of heat pumps. Calculations for heating of domestic hot water were done afterward. The theoretical part describes basic principles of heat pumps and covers a wide range of currently used types of heat pumps. Heat pumps are categorized by the environment from which the heat is taken out of. The experimental part contains calculations and selection of commercially available main components. Components were chosen based on the ability to heat 1000 L of hot domestic water from 20 to 50 °C in 4 hours.
Utilization of Waste Heat from Heating Plant Spitalka
Hromádka, Martin ; Morávek, Jan (referee) ; Mastný, Petr (advisor)
This master’s thesis deals with utilization of waste heat from heating plant Spitalka. The aim of the thesis is to explain the general principle of the operation of the heating plants, respectively the heating circuit, then to describe the operation of heating plant Spitalka and to try to identify possible sources of waste heat. Other goals are to make the calculation of waste heat and to make the proposal for its utilization. The final aim of the thesis was to design technological device for utilization of waste heat and to carry out economic evaluation. The master’s thesis describes the principle of functioning of the heating circuit. It explains the issue of combined heat and power production, the principle of functioning of the main technological elements, but also the ecology of operation or distribution of heat through the district heating. Then there is a description of the heating plant Spitalka. The thesis also deals with the water treatment and the description of the technological circuit from the beginning to the distribution to the customer. Next, the waste heat source is identified as water in a closed cooling circuit. The amount of this heat energy is calculated and suggestions for its possible utilization are made. As an application, there are selected two systems, heating and domestic hot water heating. The heating is made by heat pump. Based on the calculations, a heating system using two heat pumps in a bivalent way of connection was designed. In conclusion, the results of the design of the heating system are summarized and an economic evaluation is carried out.
